Strategic Information Management

This programme area is responsible for the overall monitoring and evaluation of sexual health related programme, projects, and activities in close liaison with all development partners, and bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors in Sri Lanka. Activities planned with an integrated approach National AIDS Committee technical group and the Senior Management Team of NSACP.

Overall planning and implementation of Electronic data management system( EIMS),report generation for end users and estimations are organized time to time.

Sub-Component/s

  1. Plan, Procurement and installation and maintenance of EIMS and infrastructure for the Island wide STD clinic network.
  2. Development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  3. Surveillance, research, and estimates.
  4. Handling of cross-cutting specialties.
  5. Development and maintenance of EIMS, PIMS and the website and other software/mobile applications.

Scope of work

  1. To work within and support the relevant NAC technical working group to develop and regularly up-date national policies, strategies, guidelines, protocols, and frameworks for implementation of strategic information management services in Sri Lanka.
  2. To collaborate with senior management team (SMT) and other relevant authorities in decision making and carrying out of strategic information management services.
  3. To ensure implementation, appropriate extension and be accountable for M&E frameworks, collation, collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of strategic information and reports as per national level protocols.
  4. Plan, Procurement and installation and maintenance of EIMS and Information Technology infrastructure development for the Island wide STD clinic network.
  5. Development and maintenance of EIMS, PIMS and the website and other software/mobile applications.
  6. To work with other NSACP Units to develop comprehensive and coordinated plans for implementation of the National Strategic Plan and other relevant activities.
  7. To coordinate and work in partnership with public, private, civil society organizations, and development partners at local, national, and international level.
  8. To maintain the strategic information management services of the National STD/AIDS control Programme in quality assured manner.
  9. To coordinate with and support institutions within and outside the Ministry of Health in the expansion of appropriate, high quality strategic information management services.
  10. Training and capacity building of individuals/institutions in the public, private and civil society organizations on strategic information management, in partnership with relevant programme areas in the NSACP.
  11. To supervise and monitor the quality of strategic information management services in the programme.
  12. Installation and maintenance of EIMS and Provision of technical support, assistance and guidance to provinces, districts and other organizations and agencies in improving quality, supply, and access to strategic information services.
  13. Need assessment and provision of technical assistance for supply and procurement of necessary items or services for strategic information management services.
